Oops, I wiped out my Ipod.

Dumb me, I was trying out the Find my Iphone app. Not knowing how it works, I go to iCloud to see what could be done and how it works. First I get in the app and try the ''Play sound or send message'' option the iPod starting making sounds, cool it works. Then I went and pressed the ''Remote Wipe'' option, thinking that it would activate and open my iPod, NOT... It then sent me a message, on which I quickly pressed OK thinking Bla Bla Bla. It was a bad move, it activated the iPod alright, but it erased everything on it, so the option should me called ''Wipe out''.

By then I was freaking out, and more 'F' words were coming out of my mouth than any other words. I was mad for not reading carefully. I had to reconfigure the whole thing when it opened up again. I was thinking that I had lost everything. I knew it was backing up to my computer every time I plugged it in, but had no clue of how it worked. Then I had an option in the set-up that asked me if I wanted to restore from iCloud or from my computer. Since I knew my backup option in iTunes is set to do so on my computer, I plugged in my iPod and pressed restore.

I was so relieved when I realized that everything came back exactly the way in was, and by everything I mean EVERYTHING. It was all there exactly the way it was the day before when it last backed up to the computer. I would have lost everything done after the backup but that's ok, it was only one day.

So if you ever erase you I pod my mistake don't panic. It does take a few minutes to reset your device but it's better than losing it. The ''find my iPhone'' app is awesome by the way. It may stop someone from getting into all of you stuff if you would ever lose it or have it stolen. The way to resume everything from your backup works the same way for the iPod, the iPhone and the iPad.
