How I got scared that my backpack was gone.

I got to Lima, Peru late yesterday evening and it took a while for me to get through customs (I had to choose the slower line) and when I got to the baggage claim, mine was not there waiting for me. Now I panicked a bit, not to lie I was scared. My house as I call it was not there. Was it lost in transfers or did someone take my bag? Not funny... I have everything that I will need in this bag, I had my valuables with me on the plane, but everything else was checked in. I would have prefered not to check it in, but since I'm going to be camping here and there I have a tent and equipment that makes my backpack a bit too big to bring inside the plane with me, so I had to check it in no matter what. I had read a few times of people losing their luggage in transfers and had wished for that not to happen, Surely I guess it had to happen to me too.

So the clerk in Lima Airport told me to go to my Hostel and wait until morning and to call back to see if they had received it. In the morning I tried calling and since my Spanish is still not so good I did not understand enough and decided I would give it some time and take a walk later in the day to see if it was there. Since the hostel is close to the airport it was not a big deal. Then maybe thirty minutes later the clerk from the hostel comes to see me and handed me the phone ''Por ti equipaje'' she said. I took the phone and the person spoke English and was happy she did. Asking me for the address for the Hostel, they had found my bag and would deliver it directly to here. Was I ever glad to hear that.

About an hour later I was hugging my backpack cause I was so glad to see it... joking. But I really was happy that it was simply lost in transfers. So this first misadventure ends in a good way.
