Wednesday Oct. 24th
It's the end of the tour for the Salar de Uyuni and we take a bus to get to San Pedro de Atacama where we arrive at 1pm. We find a hotel and spend a good part of the day wandering in town. We go for supper and at 10pm, we go for a small astronomy tour a bit out of town. The french guide explains to us the basics and history of astronomy and we can observe star, clusters and planets through the many telescopes. Back at the hotel at 12h30am and the door is locked, we have to knock and ring many times before they come and open the door (at the moment that I was on top of the wall trying to sneak in :)
Thursday Oct. 25th
Up at around 9h30 and we change hotel at 11 for the hostel Juriques for 5000 Pesos Chilean for a night (10.41$ Can.). We can already see a big difference in prices. We spend the day mostly around the hostel and relaxing and go a bit for a walk in town. We are with 2 others girls that we met that are going the same way as us for a while.
Friday Oct. 26th
We decide to leave to go to ''Pukara de Quitor'' at around 10h30am, it takes around 1h to walk the 3-4km. The ruins are nice, but the points of view from the mirador is quite incredible. The desert in front view and the mountains in the background creates a contrast very different than what I have seen before. Back in town at 2pm. At 4pm we leave again for a tour that will bring us first to the ''Three Maries'' a rock formation. Then we take a walk in the ''Valle de la Luna'' that is very impressive landscape, next stop ''Valle de la Muerta'' that is also impressive. At the end of the tour we go to a point of view higher in the mountain to look at the sun set over the valley. Back from the tour at 8pm and we go for a drink before going back to the hotel. Price of the tour : tour 7000PC + 2000PC park entrance = 18.89$ Can.

Mostly a smooth day at the hostal. Me and my friend Susanne go see a small meteorite museum in the afternoon. Very small museum but very nice with many samples of meteorites found in the valley and a few bigger pieces that are quite heavy.
