I got in Cusco on Wednesday August 15th. The first day that I was here I simply walked a bit around town getting to know the place a bit better. The hostel had a map with a proposed walk around and I followed this map. It was very nice and quite enjoyable.

On the 16th of August the hostel had organized a small free trek, so I followed along and it was in fact quite fun. We had a group of 10, a couple from Australia, another from Newfoundland, Canada, two guys from the States, two other guys from Germany, one that I don't know and me. It was a small trek of maybe 15-16 km in total. We went through San Blas square up the mountain, but cannot honestly say if there is a name for it. The destination was at some small ruins that is part of the whole Sacsaywaman Archeological sites. Beginning of the evening, there was a huge parade for the catholic schools, where each grade of students went buy doing each their little dances and it was pretty nice. The parade probably lasted for a little over an hour and was quite entertaining to see so many people in the streets at the same time.

On Friday the 17th, it was an easy going morning and beginning of the afternoon I went for lunch with a girl I met through a traveler meeting site. Had a good time and we went to visit a few markets in the afternoon. Like ''San Petro Market'' which is one of the biggest in Cusco, at least I thing because it is pretty huge.
